Hello crafty friends! Today I’d like to share with you a couple of cards I created using the January 2019 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the month by Spellbinders. If you are not familiar with the Glimmer Hot Foil System you can check out Spellbinders website and youtube channel for lots of information. It’s basically a tool you can use with your die cutting machine to create the most stunning hot foil, letterpress effects.
Starting this month Spellbinders is offering a special monthly kit with gorgeous foil plates and foil rolls that you can use with this system to create beautiful cards.
So this month they create the most beautiful heart shaped plates that go absolutely perfect with the red foil roll that’s also included in the kit.
These plates can be used with the foil as well as on their own to create lovely embossed effects on your cards. That’s what I did with this card and then I used a white gel pen to fill in the embossed grooves with color.
One of my most favorite techniques is to go for a tone on tone look. For this card I used a red piece of cardstock with the red foil that came in the kit to create a subtle effect.
Camera doesn’t do it any justice but the finished result looks truly amazing!
