Altenew March 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil/Ink Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

by Zinia Redo

Hello everyone and welcome to another Altenew release blog hop! I’m really excited about this month’s release cause in addition to the gorgeous stamps and dies, we also have some amazing new ink colors!

Make sure to read all the way through for all the giveaway details and of course visit the Altenew Card Blog.

I created two cards for this blog hop that are kinda opposites. The first one is using very bright colors (some of them from the brand new ink release) and a more messy look.

I used a faux-watercolor technique to create this effect. Most of the times you want to create a watercolor effect with dye inks, you ink your stamp and spray it with water. That gives a slightly messy impression that looks like it was done with watercolors. However for my card, I wanted an even more messy effect. To make my colors spread and bleed more, instead of adding water on my stamp, I added it on my paper. I made sure my paper is really wet before I stamped each image and that let my ink spread around to create this fun effects.

I used the adorable Bold Bunch stamp set for the flowers and the Thank you Builder stamp set for my sentiment.

For my second card, I used the exact same supplies but instead of a messy, colorful look, I went for a monochromatic and clean approach.

I really loved working with these products but there are even more amazing designs included in the release so make sure to check them out!

While I do like the bold colours on your first card Zinia, I am quite drawn to the monchromatic one. Maybe because even though it is flora, you could still give it to a guy. My favourite from this tremendous release is the Wallflower Art stamp set, along with the Stencil Mask. I’ve not tried masking before as I don’t fussy cut well, due to tremors, so I’d try building a bit of a scene with them. I love the large open areas of the flowers. Thanks!

Hi Zinia, I love the Altenew Renee Rose stamp set! So fun and ENDLESS ideas come to mind about how to use them. Stamp/emboss and watercolor; Next, colored pencils!!! I love using my colored pencils & have practiced a lot over the last few years. This stamp set would be FUN for that. I could also see stamping on a small print patterned paper and then die cut. Thanks for your design ideas and inspiration!
