Hello everyone! I’m so thrilled to be a guest designer for Catherine Pooler Designs and join the celebration of their All the Trimmings Release. I’m madly in love with all the holiday themed products and I had a really difficult time choosing which ones to use first!

For this blog hop, I created two cards that are a similar take on the same technique.
For both my cards I used a watercolor resist technique. For my first card, I used the Flourishes Background Stamp and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Then I used a mix of my favorite watercolors by Kwarts Creations to drop hints of color on wet paper, and let them bleed and blend on their own. I finished the card by adding a small sentiment from the Seasonal Sentiments and Borders Stamp Set.
For the second card, I used once again the whimsical words from the Seasonal Sentiments and Borders Stamp Set and repeatedly stamped them on the background using Versamark ink. Then I head embossed them in white. For my coloring, I created a radial look keeping the middle relatively light and adding darker shades of color around the edges. For this card, instead of using watercolors for the background, I watered down some of the gorgeous new Suede Shoes ink.
Instead of sticking an extra sentiment on top of my background, I used a gold watercolor brush pen and painted in one of the heat embossed words to highlight it and turn it into a focal element.
I really had a great time playing with these products and I can’t wait to make some more holiday cards!
