Hello everyone and welcome to another Altenew release blog hop! I’m really excited about this month’s release cause in addition to the gorgeous stamps and dies, we also have some amazing new ink colors!
Make sure to read all the way through for all the giveaway details and of course visit the Altenew Card Blog.
I created two cards for this blog hop that are kinda opposites. The first one is using very bright colors (some of them from the brand new ink release) and a more messy look.
I used a faux-watercolor technique to create this effect. Most of the times you want to create a watercolor effect with dye inks, you ink your stamp and spray it with water. That gives a slightly messy impression that looks like it was done with watercolors. However for my card, I wanted an even more messy effect. To make my colors spread and bleed more, instead of adding water on my stamp, I added it on my paper. I made sure my paper is really wet before I stamped each image and that let my ink spread around to create this fun effects.
I used the adorable Bold Bunch stamp set for the flowers and the Thank you Builder stamp set for my sentiment.
For my second card, I used the exact same supplies but instead of a messy, colorful look, I went for a monochromatic and clean approach.
I really loved working with these products but there are even more amazing designs included in the release so make sure to check them out!

I love the watercolor look!
Both of your cards and techniques turned out awesome. I love your messy watercolor look.
Great designs Zinia.
Such lovely cards!
The first card makes me think of spring! Bring it on!
Love your cards!
While I do like the bold colours on your first card Zinia, I am quite drawn to the monchromatic one. Maybe because even though it is flora, you could still give it to a guy. My favourite from this tremendous release is the Wallflower Art stamp set, along with the Stencil Mask. I’ve not tried masking before as I don’t fussy cut well, due to tremors, so I’d try building a bit of a scene with them. I love the large open areas of the flowers. Thanks!
Great thank you cards! I particularly like the monochromatic one with the greys and blacks. Wouldn’t have thought to use those colors for flowers but the result is striking. Thanks for sharing!
These are great cards! I love the monochroma card!!!!!
I really liked the second card with the monochromatic look
I’m excited for the new ink colors. great cards!
Love the “messy” watercolor affect!
Everything is beautiful…
Lovely projects! Thanks for the inspiration!
Pretty cards. Thanks for the inspiration

Love the look of both cards. Thanks for sharing!
I love seeing the contrast in your cads. Each one is striking!
Love your work, I especially liked your black and white idea!
These are lovely! That faux watercoloring is such a great look, reminds me of fabric!
Oooooh love both cards. Great watercoloring look followed by a terrific monochromatic card.
Great job on your card today…..I am not the best at watercoloring yet…but hope to be better at it soon….I am trying…I love this new release….I purchased the lovely Wallflower Art stamp as soon as it was available. I will hope to get the stencil and die at a later time. I am going to try to watercolor this stamp as soon as it arrives…thank you for your inspirations.
Such pretty cards! I love the watercolor technique you used on your first card; I’m going to have to give that a try. I’m really excited about the Rennie Roses stamp set! It’s so different from the floral sets I already own, and I think I’ll be able to make some beautiful cards with it.
So appreciate both cards due to the different styles. However, really like the monochromatic look as I don’t normally use that technique, but have been inspired to do so thanks to you!
I seem to be wanting to do the monochromatic look lately. Your card id great!
Both of these cards are stunning! Love the bright and messy look of the first one and the second one has an understated elegance about it. Thanks for sharing.
From bold brights to black and white. Great designs from one end of the spectrum to the other. thanks!
I can’t wait to try the faux watercolor technique! Thank you!
Love your bold use of color and they way it encourages me to step out of my comfort zone.
I love the softness of the spreading colors. Love this release, especially I love the new stencils, stamps and dies combinations!
Beautiful cards, thank you for sharing and inspiring.
Beautiful cards.
Thanks so much for sharing..
Both of your cards are really cool! I like the watercolor technique on the first card- I need to give that a try. And I love your monochromatic look on the second card- I always think I have to stamp the flowers in bright colors.
very cool creations!
These are beautiful! Love the soft look to both of them!
One stamp two ways – I love it! By the way, your name is beautiful!
Beautiful cards! I should try this messy watercolor technique. I love the Wallpaper Art Stamp Set, it can be used in both cards and scrapbook layouts. Thanks for the inspiration.
I really like that watercolor technique! I’m really enjoying the Rennie roses, which surprised me, because I tend towards realistic stamps, but I’m loving how they look like stained glass. And I’m always a huge fan of inks. Thanks for sharing your pretty cards!
Really great coloring. Awesome job. Thanks for sharing your creativity!
Love that fun watercolored look – need to try that!
Love the fuzzy look of your first card. The thing I am most excited about? The new ink colors!!! Love them.
Beautiful cards and loved the technique for the first card
So beautiful!
Very nice cards!
Such gorgeous cards highlighting this fabulous release! Love the new ink colors!
Great contrast in your two cards. Both are quite beautiful. I like both the pomander and wallpaper sets. I think I’d do the wallpaper set with watercolors, and the pomander in pink inks. Thanks for the inspiration!
Both of these cards are just fabulous . The colored and the monochromal one.. They are an opposite but they are both vibrant and perfect.
Hi Zinia, I love the Altenew Renee Rose stamp set! So fun and ENDLESS ideas come to mind about how to use them. Stamp/emboss and watercolor; Next, colored pencils!!! I love using my colored pencils & have practiced a lot over the last few years. This stamp set would be FUN for that. I could also see stamping on a small print patterned paper and then die cut. Thanks for your design ideas and inspiration!
Oh what beautiful and fabulously artistic cards! Lovely designs.
Wonderful cards! I love the distressed watercolour look, and really love the somber, monotoned second card.
I love the way you used the colors on your cards

Both of your cards are very cool! I am most excited about the Versatile Vases set, I adore a single flower and/or a bouquet of flowers in a vase so this one will get a whole lot of use 🙂
