Today we celebrate another release at Altenew! This time it’s all about stencils and every single one of them is a must-have for your collection.
By the way make sure to read all the way through for all the giveaway details and of course visit the Altenew Card Blog and the Altenew Scrapbook Blog.
Since this is a stencil release I decided to do something more messy and create a bunch of art journaling pages!
For my first page I used the Spring Garden Stencil. I applied some light modeling paste through it to add some texture to my background, and once it dried, I added some Altenew ink sprays to create an ombre effect and let the colors drip to each other.
To finish it off, I used a couple of my Mega Alphabet dies from Altenew’s last release.
For my second page, I worked on a really absorbent watercolor paper. I used the Mega Hydrangea Stencil and added color through it using an ink blending tool and some Distress Oxides. Then I generously sprayed the whole thing with water to activate the Oxide properties and let my colors blend and spread a little bit.
For this page I used one of my most favorite stencil in this whole release, the Step Builder Stencil. This is a layering stencil to create a really gorgeous pattern and I decided to create the layering design using pastes instead of inks. For my first layer I used light modeling paste. Once that was dry, I used some clear glitter paste to complete the design.
I colored the page with some gorgeous colors of the Altenew Ink sprays and embellished it to finish the page.
This page was created using the new Molded Lines Stencil. This time I used another technique I absolutely love, which is watercoloring through stencils. I used a mix of different colors of Altenew Ink Sprays to color the lines. I actually combined some colors together to create my own custom shades.
I also decided to play a bit on a black surface so on this page I used the Elegant Swirls Stencil and applied some Nuvo Embellishment Mousse. I absolutely love how this mousse looks on dark surfaces.
Then I used the Pure White Altenew Ink spray to add some splatters on the page and also to add some brush lettering at the bottom.
For my last page, I’m using the same stencil but this time, I’m coloring it in with some of my favorite paint markers.
