Hello crafty friends! Today I’m back with another exciting release by Altenew! I’m really excited to share with you the newest member of the Build-A-Flower family, Cattleya!
Cattleya is a type of Orchid that originated in Central and South America. This stamp set contains a beautiful branch of Cattleya flowers that have an outline image and three additional layers for adding color and details. This ‘Queen of Orchids’ will add an elegant and graceful touch to any project.
For my layout, I decided to use this amazing stamp set with its coordinating die and create a bright floral bouquet. I wanted to create something simple focusing on the beauty of the stamp set itself, without any additional flashy elements.
I used some pink and red Altenew Crisp Dye inks to stamp the layering image multiple times and die-cut it using my Mini Blossom Die-cutting machine.
Recently I’ve been obsessed with stamping and die-cutting outline images out of vellum to mix them in with their colorful versions. I really love the effect and the contrast it adds to the whole design.

Beautiful bouquet, it looks so real! I would love to see a Christmas Cactus set in the Build-A-Flower sets, I think that would be so gorgeous on a Christmas card.
Very pretty work using the beautiful flowers! 🙂
Gorgeous, like everything else that you create! You are so talented.
Zinia, I am hoping that all is better in Greece. We have so many fires right now here where I live..I am in no harm at the moment…but the fires here in Northern California are just terrible for so many. I can just pray that everyone stays safe and out of harms way.
Now about your lovely project…it is beautiful as usual. I am a fan for sure..
Thank you so much for your beautiful work….hugs
Love the new products! Thanks for the inspiration!! I love baby’s breath, that would be a good one wouldn’t it?
Zinia, this orchid arrangement is a wonderful background for you photo. tfs

Stunning layout! Gorgeous composition and colors.
Gorgeous bouquet of beautiful flowers! Love the colors!
My favorite flowers I grow in my yard are Teddy Bear Sunflowers. I’d love to see a set for those!
OH I really am loving the bouquet affect with the flowers very, very pretty!
Love how you used this stamp. I would like to see a sunflower next.
Wow, gorgeous and colorful bouquet of BAF flowers on your page, lovely colors and I LOVE the outlines stamped in vellum among them. I think geraniums or sunflowers would make excellent BAF sets.
Love your bouquet! And the idea about adding vellum flowers! Gorgeous.
Flower I would like to see: lilac or crepe myrtle.
A gorgeous layout Zinia.
Another build a flower set I would like to see Altenew do is a gerber daisy. They are so large and would pretty in so many colours and mediums.
Your layout is beautiful! I think any flower Altenew chooses for a BAF set will be wonderful. I agree with another commentor that a Christmas Cactus would be nice. My mother has had her plant for years and it blooms every year.
Pretty layout. I would like to see sunflowers.
Zinia, this layout is a stunning work of art, the beautifully blended colours of summer & how you’ve layered them with that nice photo, truly a piece of art.
Your layout is so effervescent! The gorgeous orchids in reds and pinks are stunning! Great idea to use vellum stems to accent their beauty! You are such an artist!
What a lovely layout. I’m really partial to columbines, because a) they’re my state flower and b) they have such an interesting shape to them! So I’d like to see those.
Elegant and graceful is a good way to describe this beautiful flower. This layout is absolutely stunning! I would never have thought that red and pink go so well together. Oh I love all kinds of flowers, but delphiniums, petunias, daffodils and plenty more roses (my absolute favourite flower of all!)
