Hello everyone! Today I’d like to share with you the news about another exciting new release by Altenew. In case you don’t know about it, Altenew releases a gorgeous layering flower stamp set every month that is bundled together with its coordinating die. This month the stamp set features a Peruvian Lily!
The Peruvian Lily, also known as Alstroemeria, blooms in a variety of colors and is native to South America. Some petals are flecked with darker shades, resulting in a distinctive and beautiful look. This stamp set includes a realistic and incredibly detailed Peruvian lily, designed to be stamped in contrasting or coordinating colors. A lovely leaf and painted sentiment finish off the set.
I started my layout with a watercolor wash using Altenew inks and ink sprays. I just went loose and let the colors flow without messing around a lot.
I wasn’t sure about the Peruvian Lily colors so I searched online and I found that they come in a huge variety of colors. So I decided to just play around with some warm inks.
I stamped two different color combinations and some leaves to create a floral base for my photo. To help my photo stand out against all the colorful elements I die cut a piece of the Moroccan Mosaic Cover die and layered in behind.
For my title I used the Bold Alphabet Die set and colored the letters with some ink blending using some of the same ink colors.
Overall it was a very fun and simple page to create and the gorgeous Peruvian Lily images really give a log of interest and character to the design.
